Our history
Our family of companies dedicated to tourism began by opening Tilajari Hotel Resort in 1989 in Arenal volcano area. Later in 2003, we acquired a unique oceanfront property in Guanacaste called in that time “Cabinas Playa Hermosa”. This legendary lodging site was the first of its kind in Playa Hermosa, during the 60´s.
The old cabins were popular due to their excellent location facing a pristine beach with calm waters. It was also characterized by a good restaurant and splendid tropical gardens with ancient trees that still remain and have been complemented by the design of low-maintenance gardens with tropical species that guarantee the feeling of walking through a small jungle where the suites are immersed.
We began a renovation process in 2008- 2009, which transformed the facilities into a high-end boutique hotel that combines its eco-friendly architecture with comfort and privacy. Thus, consolidating the beach property of Hamilton Leisure Group.
Shortly after, the development of Mirador Arenal 1968 also began, an impressive natural park at the foot of Arenal Volcano with trails for hiking and mountain bike crossing the lava flows of the largest eruptions of the colossus in the last century. After more than 50 years, a special type of vegetation has grown allowing also the presence of fauna inhabiting it. In addition, the park has an amazing look out point for panoramic view of volcano and Arenal lake while visitors relax having a nice meal or drink in its cafeteria.
More recently, the project in process is Hacienda Caño Negro. Located on the northern border of Costa Rica and developed with a concept of luxury rural and ecological tourism around the exuberant Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, an internationally recognized site in the RAMSAR convention by the importance of its wetlands and the splendid richness of wildlife around.
